这部根据《尼克知识乐园》(Nickelodeon)电视卡通片改编的影片讲述了索恩伯里(Thornberry)一家人环游世界的奇异经历。
12岁的伊莱扎-索恩伯里(Eliza Thornberry，莱西-沙伯特配音，Lacey Chabert)来到了非洲，在哪里她遇见了一位神秘巫师，他赋予了伊莱扎与动物们通话的能力。但是有一点：如果伊莱扎向别人展示了她的这种能力，她将永远失去它。一天，伊莱扎发现偷猎者准备用电网猎杀一个象群，于是她和宠物黑猩猩达尔文(Darwin)一起去阻止这个阴谋。(静雨）
